For many health problems, Witkoppen Health and Welfare Centre has remedies that can provide relief from pain and worry. There’s a lot more to this clinic than meets the eye, because they are a  multifaceted health and welfare service provider, treating some of Joburg’s  most vulnerable as well as poorest.

Their specialist clinics include -

• Chronic -  diabetes and hypertension
• Antenatal
• Paediatric/Well Baby
• Mental Health
• Family Planning and Well Woman
• TB

They also run a successful and extensive holistic HIV/AIDS programme, which covers everything from the antiretroviral medication to counselling and medical check-ups to nutrition.

There’s also the Social Welfare Department. They also run an Orphans and Vulnerable Children programme with the help of volunteers from the Department of Public Works.

The clinic gets small grants from the Department of Social Development and the Gauteng Department of Health but their largest donors  come from the private sector, many of them international.

The Witkoppen Health and Welfare Centre plays an important role in lessening people’s discomfort.
